Not a naughty eastern European word, but a band I just saw.
They were on the bill for Andy McGibbon's monthly "Acoustic Forum". They're from Pretoria and are gigging in that area at the moment. They describe themselves as "folk-tronica" but tonight, in keeping with the theme for Andy's monthly events, they played a mostly acoustic set.
This is the freshest, most engaging act I have heard in Jo'burg for some time. Great ideas, great execution, interesting textures from a band that constantly switches instruments. They even had melodica and what looked liked an early Casiotone - one of the little hand-bag sized jobs. Oh... and popped balloons for percussion on their first number (no kidding).
I think they might be more electronic, more clubby away from the acoustic environment that Andy operates, but I'd expect them to still be interesting and well worth seeing.

I'm not getting paid for this - these guys really are worth checking out.
