I don't know if this is the place but here goes.

I am keen to know:
1} Who has the ability to delete posts, and
2} Do they have the ability to randomly delete or is there concensus?

Thanks
As far as I know, only Alan and Norio. Maybe Rene as well.

I'm not sure there is any consensus. If they feel it needs not be here, it gets deleted.

You need to be very clear that this is not a democratic environment. Neither is there any reason why it should be. This is an internet forum, not a nation state. Norio and Alan can delete anything for any reason. Saying that, they are both extremely fair people, and stick rigidly to principles that they've outlined for us explicitly.
        Thank you.
        I have got it. ?
        Delete the post.

          Fixed.
From my experience here, there is very little that gets deleted here.
It has to really violate the ethos of "fair play".
The moderators have a particular passion for the ideal of "free speech" and "non-censorship"

Having said that - I don't think anyone wants to cross that particular line.

Talk to the mods about it ?
To post on GFSA you have to register.

When you register you receive an email which, amongst other things, directs you to the forum rules and guidelines.

It's generally prudent to read all that stuff. It is always available in the "Forum Rules" board.

Singe is correct when he says that this is not a democratic environment. I think Alan put it nicely recently in another thread when he said that really GFSA is his and Norio's house and when you come into that house you play by their rules.

But ... those rules are light, fair and easy to abide by ...

Like any house in which you invite people to socialise. Everybody's hanging out, but it's still not a public place. The owner still retains all rights and everybody else ought to, out of sheer good manners, abide by the owner's rules without having to be asked (says the oft-warned singemonkey :? ).

                      The house of fun.
...why don't you come and play?

Myself, Norio and Renesongs. I usually do all the day to day management and the other two don't usually choose to exercise their right unless it's something I am involved in - then they act as third party impartial types. Certain boards have other moderators with power within that board.
2} Do they have the ability to randomly delete or is there concensus?
Ultimately we are your benevolent dictators. ? We have absolute control, but I can assure you it is not exercised randomly. I consider any deletions carefully and they are almost always for rule infractions or to tidy up threads that have gotten out of hand. Personally I dislike censorship (as do many of us who were around when censorship was rife in this country), so I take action on probably only half of the posts reported.

It's a revolutionary house.... If you have a tendency of undermining us... blah blah...

I'm not drawing similarities deliberately but as I type this I find it rather funny that, for once, Malema can be right. Much like a broken clock being right twice a day....
