I move to the USA in a few weeks, and I am getting a amplifier pretty fast...
I have been looking at 2 amps in particular, they both seem great...
So without to much added to this, what are your OPINIONS on these amps, you may have experience, you may just have read about them.... I dont mind....

1) Fender Vobroverb RI (from the 90s). 2 by 10 inch, 35- 40 watts..... pretty clean sounding but I imagine it will get a bit hairy around 5 or 6.... ?
2) Vox ac30 c2 (the new version of ac30) celestion greenbacks, 30 watts, solid state rectifier, breaks up a little more I expect ???

I used a ac30 a while back and the only thing I did not like was the ts808 with it, it got nasally so maybe a more transparent overdrive would work.....
In general they are 2 amps and I just want ipions on them
    Vox + Tubescreamer = doesn't work.

However I know a Crowther Hotcake and Ac30H2 are calling your name.

Well don't forget to dial in from the US on occasion.... ?

IF that AC30 has 2*12 greenbacks...go for it imo. AC30's are (as you know) excellent amps and will probably hold its value. The solid state rectifier can be easily swopped out for a valve/tube in vintage ones...maybe in this case too ...

Yeah I found this out a few years ago when I bought an AC30: MY TS-9 sounded truly awful through it. I think it's because the AC30 is pretty strong in the mids department, and all the TS-9 did was provide tonnes more mids with the additional gain. Strangely, my Visual Sound Route 66 and Jekyll & Hyde pedals, which are both apparently TS-808 "clones", sounded fine with the AC30.
The '63 Vibroverb RI - that's the brown tolex model? The stock speakers are horrible, but once you change them for something decent it's a great amp. Search for the Diaz mods too - you at least need to do the bias mod (stock they are set to a fairly cold fixed bias, which makes them a bit fussy over valves).
hmmm, I feared that would be the case.... I love my tubescreamer but only with fender amps......
Maybe I shall have to invest in a barber ltd, or crowther hotcake.....
The ac30c2 is quite a nice ac30 apparently, quite dependable and also very pretty to listen to ?
I only fear my fuzz as well through the ac30

I also heard this so you confirm my suspicion.... ?
Man I jammed a TS into a DRRI and was amazing how awesome it sounded. It's a match made in heaven. So is the Crowther and any Vox.

Not saying the C2 isn't good. Just saying the Heritage is better with those pretty blue speakers ?

Man I can't imagine how fast you're going to go through gear up there!!
The Custom Vibrolux Reverb is a more modern take on the 63 vibroverb, but with the feedback loop removed and solidstate rectification. It is almost the same amp, but stronger bass due to the ss rectifier, and rauchier breakup like a vox because of the nfb loop gone. ?
I really wanted the Custom vibrolux but I have just read so much that it buzzes like mad........ and htta makes me not want it ☹ but description wise it sound great.....

I dread what may happen to this addiction when in arms reach of EBAY and Gbase.com
Yeah I've read about the hiss, but I have the mods to remove it.
Most of the hiss comes from the fact that the two channels are joined before the reverb circuit.
It is easy to mod back to vibroverb specs of having the normal channel reverbless. And easy to make the reverb a little more stronger.
                    Speaker change for sure.

Mika, sorry for derailing a bit...but have you considered the 4*10 bassman '59 re-issue ? I notice there's one for sale up north . And from what I hear, these are pretty decent and powerful amps.

I have considered the 59 bassman RI.... and I may go with one back in the USA as they are cheap, I just am curious abou the tweed sound but not sure if I would like it.....
I really like the ac30 sound so so so much..... but I think its so similar to the vibroverb/ lux
Why limit yourself to those 2 amps?
Look up the Fender ProSonic. You should be able to land one at a steal in the 'states.
The new 22 watt SuperSonic also seems like a peach.
Oh I have looked at those as well, the supersonic 22 was a valid option, however I will never use the high gain channels, and I have experienced some hiss with it occasionally..... when i tested one, maybe it was a bad one:/
