So what have you done to raise funds to buy a guitar or music gear?

flatfourfan · 2011-03-17T11:11:30+00:00

I'm sure all of us have a story of sorts of when you have money there are no decent guitars worth buying and when there are nice ones, it's salty crax time of the month. What do you do to raise some much needed moolah?????? Mine would be my current garage sale thread, I can't believe that I've collected enough stuff on the side to pay for another guitar....... The best that I know of is a friend tucking into his kids college money.........his wife didn't know. To think that I have a minor case of GAS, what do guys do who have it bad and who's tastes are in the big money guitars?

I printed a list that said I'm collecting money to help fund a cricket tour for our local primary school. I went to the BP a few corners from where I live and started pestering people that wanted to buy something at the shop. Took me about 3 weekends to raise enough money to buy a chorus pedal.

I'd be a bit cheesed off if I thought I was helping to send the local school team on tour and then found out I was actually being duped into funding somebody's GAS/

I am kidding. Having said that, there really is a guy hanging around our BP collecting money for charities for quite some time now. I can't help but think he's dodge. I'm a he btw.

Renesongs

When I was about 16 years old I was dating a girl who wanted to give me her handmade acoustic guitar and pay for me to audition at Julliard with the money she inherited from her grandparents. After two months I gave her the guitar back and dumped her. ☹
