Oi Oi! Okay... where to begin... Everybody post up your favourite top 5 guitar solos (not necessarily in order) Format: Artist/band name - song (and a reason, if you want) woop! okay (in no particular order): 1. Europe - Final Countdown (its just a pure and clean solo that still kicks ass even today) 2. Metallica - Master of puppets (i just love the way it carries the melody on, and the build up of tension at the end of the solo) 3. Guns 'n Roses - Sweet Child 'O mine (its Slash... what more can I say ?) 4. Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child (that man knows how to lay it down!) 5. Judas Priest - Painkiller (its just such and awesome song with a solo to match!) Alrighty... your turn!

1. Eddie van Halen - "Jump" - The solo just kicks ass..big time!
2. John Petrucci (Dream Theater) - "Under a glass moon" - mean solo
3. Eric Johnson - "Cliffs of Dover" - Legendary tone
4. Steve Vai - "For the love of god" - guitar wankery at it best! ?
5. Joe Satriani - "Summer song" - all hail the groove 8)

I say, let's get this list lengthened a bit..i haven't even mentioned Pink Floyd and Ritchie Blackmore... ☹

Jimmy Page - Solo in "the song remains the same" Stairway to heaven
David Gilmour - Comfortably numb, but Shine on you Crazy diamond gives me the bumps
Ritchie Blackmore - "Smoke on the Water" not difficult but I can still sing it in my head
Snowy White - lots to choose but even the cheesey "bird of Paradise" awesome sound
Steve Vai - Tender Surrender, not bad for an Ibanez
Mark Knopfler - "sultans of swing", the mixture of fingers and fender are just brilliant

yes, 5 is difficult, but its a bit of a challenge! ?
Cause i can think of loads!!!!!
Muse in general have some awesome solos/guitar work. And they still kick major ass live (which cant always be said for some other bands live)
To me, live is important. If you cant deliver live then you pretty much dont sit well in my books... everyone can sound great in a studio (with the right editor) but live is all about true talent! and THATS what music is all about in the end! ?
Best live acts that I give Kudos to: RHCP, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Motorhead, Lamb of God (they are actually better live), Rammstein, Korn, Uriah Heep, Muse... just to name a few. 8)

hahaha. No. I am just probably the biggest Ibanez fan in South Africa. The most versatile guitar in my opinion (RG series and JS Series). Not a fan of the others tho....

hmmm ok i have too many to choose but this one really got me. I love it because of the song it was added to, the way he integrated it and because of how beautiful it is in it's simplicity

Santana - Blues for Salvator ( the only solo that can bring me 2 tears)
Led Zepplin - Whole Lotta Love ( my personal air guitar favorite)
Lynard Skynard - Freebird (4 min of good 'ol Southern goodness)
Funkadelic - Maggot Brain (melted my brain 1st time i heard it)
Jimi Hendrix - Bold as Love (just makes me wanna jump around ? )

RHCP - Sir Psycho Sexy
RATM - killing in the name or bulls on parade (either one for his utter command on effect)
eddie van halen ft. michael jackson ? - beat it
machine head - aesthetics of hate (dual axe assault of note)
