I have the standard crybaby wah wah and used it last week - it worked perfectly!
Today I plugged in my guit and the wah wah is not working. What it is doing is acting like a volume pedal??? ???

Does anyone know the problem? Is it fixable??im kinda desperate...I really love using it..

Most likely the capacitor (normally around 4.7uF) in series with the inductor that is faulty, or the inductor itself. Could be open circuit, or even a bad connection to the PCB.
Is this fixable? or do I need to get a new wah wah? I have not had the pedal very long at all... >☹

        Is it under warranty?
obvious question but.... are you using a power supply or a battery?

Doh! ? That sounds like a mistake I might make, so it's a fair question :-[
I HAVE made that mistake,,, thats why I'm asking,,, LOL,,,, ?
power supply but tried a battery aswell - same outcome.

Wont still be under warranty ☹

STRANGE how it worked on Wednesday evening then Sunday it does not ???
It didn't even move from my pedalboard
Have you tried using it in isolation from everything else?
                    Is the cable working right?
Your actual guitar cable? No broken joints in it?
still no luck, isolated it, tried different cables everything possible....looks like i might need to look for a new/2nd hand wah...
The fact that it works as a volume pedal when turned on indicates that power supply, connections and switches are all ok. The circuit is in fact working, but the variable filter section tuned mainly by the inductor and capacitor I mentioned in my earlier post is not - most likely a faulty component, or poor PCB connection on one of these two components. In fact it is a known Wah to Volume pedal mod to disconnect the 4.7uF cap from ground.

It is not difficult to repair, and any decent CT-based repair shop should be able to diagnose and fix fairly quickly - no need for a new pedal. If the inductor is kaput, there are plenty of aftermarket replacements available for around $25, but not sure if available locally so you might need to purchase online from the USA. Google "Fasel Inductor" for more info. Circuit diagrams for wah's also freely available on the web.

Check out this excellent article from RG Keen for all the info you ever needed about a wah pedal - http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/wahpedl/wahped.htm

                        hope this helps
Thanks JohnA! that is indeed helpful.

WHAT WAH WOULD YOU GUYS GO FOR IF GETTING A NEW ONE?
I am going to vegas tomorrow for work so was thinking of picking up a wah from guitar center there. crybaby classic / 535q / clyde deluxe seem really nice...
                            13 days later
Thought I would let you all know I picked up a CLyde Deluxe Wah from Las Vegas Guitar Center, and its AMAZING!brilliant sounding wah which I can HIGHLY recommend. Best of all I paid so little for it in the states ? ?
