Erm... if I recall, Lynn's book is total BS. Ah yes. I remembered correctly.
Proponents: please read the criticism section here and then wait for some decent scholarship on this issue. The Lynn book says nothing of value:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IQ_and_the_Wealth_of_Nations
Unfortuantely when refuting things of an IQ nature (as in the case of the Bell curve as well) it is rarely if ever refuted with hard science or by a counter study which proves otherwise. So opponents attack other aspects instead of conducting their own laborious research. The positve correlation between IQ and income is well documented from numerous sources and across numeorus studies. No reason why it cannot be held true for entire countries and their average IQ. The positive side of the coin is countries with high average iq's are succesful ,this is for countries where IQ is positively known. In the case of ZA IQ was not thumbsucked but based on tests that were adminsitered at some point.
I approached Lynn's documentary from another perspective, not to shoot it down but to actually understand and check my own sources. There is no coincidence that some countries are considered first world and others 3rd world. Dont look at countries in isolation look at the entire premise.
countries with high average IQ = high gdp ,....those with low IQ = low gdp (generally as there are exceptions due to minral weatlh of the country and even then some exceptions as Congo which is quite possibly the most mineral rich country on earth)
And Lynn's book is definitely not BS ..unless you have performed the science needed to make a call like that which i doubt. IT is based on methodical research.
