What do you collect (other than the obvious...)

So, what do you collect? Over the last year or so I've been collecting signed music memorabilia - here are a few of my favourites: The signed pickguard is Pete Best - drummer in the original Beatles from the Hamburg days. The Cribs LP - the top signature is Johnny Marr, ex-The Smiths - he soundtracked my high school years R.E.M. Biffy Clyro Muse Kings of Leon White Stripes Green Day And then my pride and joy frame - The Manic Street Preachers, fully signed The Clash CD cover and Weezer

Wow, that is incredible, the 67. I remember when I started I used the Mamiya RB67, what an awesome medium format camera, and so versatile, but cumbersome if you did not have a Manfrotto HD (Heavy Duty) tripod ....... I think your pic is beautiful.

What do I collect? High powered Handguns ........ ?

If you have a .44 Magnum you are my new hero.

"I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk? "

Renesongs

I collect traffic fines, Bad debts and arrest warrants. I getting tired of my collections so I'll be selling it off at face value. I want to start collecting money instead. Dollars are my favourite 8)

I used to collect guitar magazines, but switched to collecting movies about 9 years ago.
Mostly Westerns (mostly Sergio Leone ones), Toshiro Mifune+ Kurosawa, Coppola, BD Palma, Scorcese, Michael Cimino, Michael Mann movies.
Have recently added Christopher Nolan, Pedro Almodovar and the Coen Bros.

IceCreamMan

I collect books and movies specifically around Nazi Germany from 1923 - 1945. I am fascinated by that period and specifically 1930 - 1933.

I collect dvd movies and comedy series - Garth Marenghi's Dark Place, League of Gentlemen, Arrested Development, The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Flight OF the Conchords.
Trailer Park Boys, etc
And live concert DVD's.

@ Arjun: i love almodovar , scorsese, leone, and Coen Bros. you should add PT Anderson and Jim Jarmusch to the director list too.
If you like westerns you might like Jim Jarmusch's take on the western genre 'Dead Man' (early 90's indie pic). One of my all time faves.

And I collect graphic novels/comics, although i don't really buy anymore. Quite an expensive hobby.

Many years ago I collected stamps in a sort of half-assed way. This was quite interesting for me because it opened the world up to me. Stamps would have little bits of local culture and history embedded in them. And languages. It amazed me to learn that there are countries in Asia where they speak Spanish and countries in South America where they speak Dutch or play cricket.

Some time later I found myself collecting beer bottles and tins. Nothing went into my collection unless I had sampled the beer. If somebody came to me with some exotic tin or bottle I was not interested - I had to taste the beer, form an opinion of it, mentally compare it to others blah blah. I had about 300 at one time, but it was an unsettled time in my life and moving around with a collection of bottles and especially tins (they dent easy) was a pain. So I sold them to some pub.

I seem to get bees in my bonnet and pursue things for a while and then move on to other things. I enjoyed buying and reading books on cricket at one time (luckily my budget did not match my genuine but less-than-eternal passion). I was into bird watching for a while - which was neat because, in another way, it opened up the world to me. I can't say that I collect Richard Thompson albums because I have most of what he's done (excluding stuff that he did session work on) and so it's mostly a case of waiting for him to release something new and so it's not actively collecting. But about 70 Cds all told. Maybe in a few years I'll be looking at that and wondering what that was all about. I used to buy every thing that Stephen King put out - these days I hardly read fiction at all.

Collections tie you down and they acquire a life and purpose of their own. People with a rambling soul should not collect stuff. Good memories are the best thing to collect.

If my 416 Rigby's cartridges cost what they do, I don't even wanna know what you pay for one of those. Definitely a feeling of remorse just before you pull the trigger.
