After A/B'ing a friends Crafter GAE 27 with my Ibanez EW, I realized it's time to get a new Acoustic. The Crafter's solid Spruce top just makes it 10 times better to my ear than the Ibby with it's all laminate construction. Following that logic, an all solid guitar should sound even better, right?
I read a review in Guitarist on the Epiphone DR 500MCE a while back and it struck me as a great value for money proposition.

Does anybody have any personal experience with the Epiphone Masterbilts? Any good?
And to you big city folk, what else is available in stores in that price range, with more or less the same features?
