Tamago Yet at least four posts got deleted from this thread today. wha ??? Sorry I didn't see them at all and I thought I was monitoring this thread!
AlanRatcliffe I can be quick (when I'm around)! Anyway, hoping this has all settled down now, but I will be keeping a close eye on it and this thread is officially on a short leash.
Tamago The aftermath Been away for more than a year. Discovered a lot about myself. I am no guitarist, and it was just a hobby that became waaaay to serious! Yes, I had a nervous breakdown shortly after my last post here. I don't play anymore, when I do feel inspired, I will pick one of them up and tune it and play what I remember. My left hand is permanently in its own mission due to years of soldering and stuff, so no matter how hard I try it will never get the hang of a fretboard anyhow. I'd prefer not to change it, these hands bring home the bacon in a big way. What I am though, is an electronic engineer, and that's what I do, to a very high standard. A lot of people here build amplifiers on occasion, so I am interested in that, because I do have the knowledge to do that, and much more. I learnt from Ton Giesberts and others back in the '90s, and even though I went right into the depths of microprocessor design, the knowledge is still here in my brain. I have considered either writing a book on my knowledge, which is a rather one-way channel, or to do something which is seriously lacking in SA, an electronics magazine. My profession is in serious trouble, and that's putting it mildly. Feel free to create different thread to discuss further.
