In fairness I thought his tone was fine on Endgame (a bit generic), but that's with a huge famous metal band. They have better production and can hire people who make things like that better. I'm talking about his solo videos and with Jag Panzer, the point in time when his ears were picking his tones ?

I agree with you completely on this. I'm not a huge fan of Loomis, however I do think he has serious chops, I just don't really like the kind of music he makes. However the moment you hear Loomis, you know it's Loomis ? and that is the most important and admirable quality of them all ?
