What do you do to pay for all the guitar gear? It seems many people around here are IT guys... Would be interesting to see the demographics... I am a fresh graduate mechanical science engineer (mechatronics major). I'm currently consulting in the industrial/consumer embedded electronics industry (consumer product design/injection molded plastics etc.) and doing my master's part time.

I think personality type is probably more indicative, the IT thing is merely a consequentiality.

I think there's a large self-selection bias. It's guitarists who frequent forums that tend to be in IT.

I think it's even worse: it's predominantly guys in IT that take the time to answer in this thread, never mind being on the forum. How many members have not yet responded? 2000?

Ever heard of Multi tasking? It is a speciality of IT geeks and propeller heads and for those who don't know Multi-task is derived from the ancient Greek multytykcio meaning to f@ck- up everything at the same time.

I'm a professional musician (performing, teaching & running a small music management/administration company) but... *facepalm* ...I'm starting a 2-year Masters in IT this year... lol!
