Hi all,

Well; a week after joining and I eventually get around to saying hello ☹ Has been that kind of week..

I used to play many moons ago when the earth was flat and neon socks were in fashion.
About 2 years ago I decided to pick it up again.
I have since reached the same level of incompetence I was at the last time around ( what do you know, it really is like riding a bike. You swear and fall off a lot) .

I Am now trying to break what I consider to be my two worst hack guitarist habits. :-[

Never actually playing a whole song.

And playing for myself, to myself, by myself...

My gear, had the good fortune of having Alan pick out a guitar and practice amp for me ( and more importantly set the thing up!). So I have myself a nice Cort and the amazing Rolland Micro cube ?

Nice to meet you all
Stephen.
    Hey Stephen

    Welcome to the forum - I'm glad you finally delurked. Also happy you still like the guitar and amp. ?
      Hi Stephen welcome!
      I have since reached the same level of incompetence I was at the last time around ( what do you know, it really is like riding a bike. You swear and fall off a lot)
      Exactly my style of playing, for at least 20 years now...
        Welcome bro!....don't take these guys too seriously they tend to unbelievably Modest!
          Those micro cubes are really nice, great place to start. Welcome.
            Welcome!

            Consider yourself fortunate that you have some prior experience. I picked up the guitar for the first time ever a week ago, and bugger me but it's hard to do even the simplest things.

            I'd love to be able to boast that I fall off a lot, but in order to fall off, you first need to be able to get on! ?

            Cheers!
            Riaan
              Hey Stephen, welcome to GFSA.......
                Thanks for the warm welcome everyone ?

                  #include <stdlib.h>

                  int main(void)
                  {
                  printf("Hello world!\n");
                  return 0;
                  }
                    Lol as Aja has just pointed out there is no need to list my profession ?

                          Lulz, that's hardcore.

                          Seems to be a number of hacker types on here. Wonder if that means anything?

                          (All I know is I can't quit my programming day job for guitar playing anytime soon!)

                            nah I am not a programmer, just started learning. I am a mechanical engineer by trade. But you are right though, there seem to be many IT guys on here!
                              Welcome dude! I've got allan's book and it changed my life!
