Hi guys i wanted to know where i could find an Epiphone Explorer or Flying V. I know Bothners dont have any so i hope you guys can help me thanx
Where to find Epiphones in Cape Town???
I know Marshall CT had some, but only LPs and 335's IIRC. Maybe give them a call.
I seem to remember the quality on the finishes not being great tho. As always, keep an eye on the old gumtree for a good 2nd hand one - they pop up from time to time.

Do you think it is worth it to buy it off of Amazon? They are going for R2300 with free shipping and to me thats a bargain. Has anyone here ever bought a guitar off Of Amazon? How long do you think it will take to ship it to Cape Town? I know its a lot of questions but i really dont want to be RIPPED OFF thanx. Here is the link to amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0021EVDOK/ref=mp_s_a_3?qid=1294464971&sr=8-3

They ship to SA and a few members bought gear from them before!

I'd heard Amazon are reluctant to ship anything down here.

That Free SUper Saver Shipping thing at Amazon only applies to US addresses, not internationally. Also, They won't ship it to SA. Tried putting into a cart and entering my address.josh wrote: Do you think it is worth it to buy it off of Amazon? They are going for R2300 with free shipping and to me thats a bargain. Dude, if you're planning on buying a Les Paul, I strongly recommend that you buy one second hand. The new Epiphone LPs I saw in Marshall looked pretty shoddy pieces of work. Try find a set-neck Korean model from a few years back rather. The new ones looked terrible.
Agreed, only thing impressive about the Epis at Marshall Music was the price, the build quality was lacking.singemonkey wrote: Dude, if you're planning on buying a Les Paul, I strongly recommend that you buy one second hand. I've played the new chinese Epiphones, and they do not come close to mine even, and honestly, the new Cort TS series of LP copies are as good and they cost only R3000 odd. If you do want a guitar like this, look at the Tanglewood and Cort copies. Else, if you have R5000 to spend on a guitar, maybe check out the new Fender Blacktop series, they go for around R5500 on Take2. They're all Dual Humbucker guitars, Made in Mexico, so they'll almost certainly be decent guitars.
They will ship, BUT, there are certain categories of items, eg electronics, which they may not ship outside of the USA (for Amazon.com) or the UK (for Amazon.co.uk) which, I presume, is because of arrangements with the brands to protect franchisees in other countries.Hammeron wrote: I'd heard Amazon are reluctant to ship anything down here.

However take2.co.za has a "more USA" section which effectively acts as a front end to Amazon.com.
As already stated, the free shipping only applies within the continental USA (or the UK in the case of amazon.co.uk).
