Hi guys. I want to import an amp from Ceriatone amps. It is a USA company so their voltage is 110V. They can put a 220V supply in my amp. Will this be an issue with our power?
Voltage question
??? nope, that's us right there, 220V.
Thanks! For some reason I thought we were 240V.
I have been told by amp techs to always use the 240V setting because it's safer.
BTW - Ceriatone is not US, it's a guy called Nik Azam, who is based in S.E. Asia (Singapore IIRC). Not to worry though - he has a good rep and ships worldwide.

Thanks to Eskom, we are closer to 220V than we are to 240V most of the time. The raise from 220 to 240 is one that most electricity providers in the world are doing gradually so that they do not become liable for lotsa old stuff failing at the same time. In practice, anything new labelled 220 will have been designed for 240. To be honest, in 99% of products especially including amps it does not make a difference.
A tube amp will have less sag and be more direct and have more distortion, but I doubt if a lot of people would pick up the difference in a blind listening test.

My mistake, I only saw they were South East Asian afterwards. I ordered a Dizzy 30 head, can't wait to get it. Great price too.Alan Ratcliffe wrote: I have been told by amp techs to always use the 240V setting because it's safer.
