FruitarGeek
Hey folks
So I got the said product above a few weeks ago, and Im finally trying it out throughly now. It works 100% and all and I have no complaints, except I must ask if its possible to re-route the sound recorded( using Ableton live) to go through my computer speakers (which are connected to my PC) as opposed to whatever is connected to the headphones output of the device. It seems it will only play music when something is plugged into the UCG

Hey Fruitargeek,
Did you come right with this?
FruitarGeek
No not really.
Although, logic tells me that the ASIO drivers installed for the UCG will only play through the headphones output, or however you configure it. I guess I was trying to make both my Realtek drivers and ASIO play through the same speakers at the same time. Its just such a mission having to swap jacks everytime you want to hear through real speakers.

Can't you set up the UCG as your default output device for Windows? Then everything plays through that and you can leave that pluged into the speakers.
Otherwise, you'd need a mixer of some sort to mix the two together.
Norman86
Im sure you can do what Alan has suggested!
It would cause fewer headaches! otherwise, im sure that the guitar controller would be a "microphone" of sorts and it could just be added to your normal windows sounds!
but without a similar peripheral, Alan's suggestion of using it as your main sound card would be the easiest!
Those ASIO drivers arent always the easiest or friendliest things to configure!
FruitarGeek
No, doesn't work. Ive tried. Sound from windows just won't play at all. Or Ive heard it a few times, when I try play a song or something off my PC, I will just get this monotone squeel (don't know what you would call it, its like a beep but without the pauses)
Norman86
Are you able to record properly through the device?
FruitarGeek
Yes. It works well.
Its just that for examplea as soon as that device is plugged in, I have to have something in the headphone jack to hear what is being recorded, and vice versa I can only play something from my PC out of the speakers which are NOT plugged into the UCG. It just gets a little annoying when I want to jam to a song (when using Guitar Rig) and I have to have half ear in headphones and other half out. I've kinda learnt to deal with it.
Norman86
hmmm...
try forcing windows to use the behringer as your input and the realtek as your output?
it should work!!
i use a behringer soundcard and can use both my laptops onboard as well as the behringer sound card by forcing windows to play with!
FruitarGeek
Ok. I will try.
Im not at the PC right now, but will let you know what the results are
Norman86
awesome! you should come right!
Norman86
Well? Did you come right with this Fruitargeek?
FruitarGeek
Well, I was using Guitar Rig as my test template, and no where on the options did I see the option to make Realtek my output whilst using ASIO drivers.
Naturally, I assumed when I plug the Behringer in, it automatically is the input and output (for something like Guitar Rig, but that is because of ASIO) so now if i go to change it on Asio, no where does it say something like Realtek output, It just has that chanel select like 1 + 2 or some shiz like that. Im not really clued up on that whole settings for recording.
