Which Single Coil Pickups to go for??? Pls help Strat Camp ;)

Ok, for some of you this may come as a shock but I also do enjoy single coil tone! ? Seeing as I am however severely lacking in knowledge on the subject I am asking for a little advice from the Stratocaster camp. I am looking for a set of 3 Single Coil pups to be used in a vintage Strat. I'm looking for the Texas Special type single coil tone from any brand of pickup manufacturer. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what pickups to go for other than the Fender Texas Specials... I'm really looking for that over wound, Texas blues, Stevie Ray type tone. I am looking for some top quality pickups ? if i can afford them ? Thanks

As for the original post - just get yourself some Toneriders. At the prices they're going for now you can't possibly go wrong! Ordered a set of Classic Blues last week and they're already in one of my guitars, even with Christmas and all. There's no other service like this in SA! ?

Same here! Just installed a set of Pure Vintage in my Japstrat! Very happy with them.

Same here! Just installed a set of Pure Vintage in my Japstrat! Very happy with them.

Received a new set of Tonerider Classic Blues Strat pickups on Wednesday. Installed them last night - Wow again! I have to tell you that I have Kinmans and EMGs in other Strat guitars and although they have fantastic single coil sounds the Tonerider pups beat them hands down for a true Stratocaster sound. They're extremely quiet too, even with my tubescreamer on.

So if you want actual Strat tones get yourself Toneriders. You cannot possible go wrong! ?

Check out the Tonerider City limits pickups.

They are next on my list. All the reviews I've read say that they are very much in SRV territory (a lot people seem to prefer them to texas specials)

Im a big fan of Bare Knuckle Pickups. Have a look. I have a set of Mothers Milk, Love them.

Kinmans are amazing too. Cant go wrong ?
