StephenG - Just saw this after many years...you poor thing, labouring under a delusion all this time...I have never played a twelve bar blues number onto a recording so I have no idea who the hell you were listening to that day dude....head over to bandcamp.com and listen to Enormous Flowers and come back here and tell me I suck as a vocalist and lyricist...before throwing shade be sure of your facts...
try this out:- In Tony Coxbrother (or sister) I hardly ever come to this site but I see now that I should. Thank you for the encouraging and beautiful words you use to describe my music, it's much appreciated...where would we be without people who listen like you do......I sincerely hope that after 5 long years you will see this message...
all the best,
tony - I would say guys, the choice between the nights is immaterial, either night will send you home gob-smacked, so what's the diff? ? Me personally, by now I would have sold something precious to me to attend BOTH of these guys, they've travelled far and deserve your undivided attention...there is a discount for both shows btw...looking forward to seeing you there..t
- as with everything it is hard to generalise. I have made my living in SA from people who have valued me as a player and musician. So, even with the knowledge that over exposure breeds over-familiarity, there are still folk in SA who 'know' and support no matter what and my hat goes off to them...anyway, we're way off the topic for this thread which is: HOLY SHIT! JON GOMM AND PRESTON REED IN SOUTH AFRICA!
- and girls, sorry Keira... :-[
- ja boys, it happens in every country..the reaction I get to my concerts let's say in Canada, are just out of this world with a standing ovation for every show...I'm very lucky to get a standing O in SA, but that's because of over familiarity....but still the world's greatest guitar players must be brought to SA to show their skills and have their music heard because there are ridiculous players out there and even if you're an electric guitar player or any which way kind of guitar player these concerts will floor you. I make sure that the support acts are all strongly SA...
- Hi Peter, we are working on a possibility of a workshop, will post in the forum if it happens...t
- Hi to all in this Guitar Forum,
I am indeed bringing Jon Gomm (UK) to South Africa but to make the brew doubly strong I am also bringing Preston Reed (USA)
