  • Hi guys,
I need to replace certain caps and resistors in my fender deluxe hotrod with good quality components to overcome overheating and leaking problems, and the big electronics firms (Mantech, Communica) in Cape Town don't carry the components required, viz.
    R78 & R79: 470ohm, 5W, 16V ceramic (replace with 7W or 10W).
    R97: 1.2kohm, 2W (replace with 3W).
    C31: 47uF 500V.
    C33, 35, 36: 22uF 500V.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks
    Tony
    • Thanks Atilla,
      Will look into the options

      • Thanks Alan, I'll contact Gareth
        • Hi Guys,
Has anyone fitted a Fender Mid Boost kit in their strat? I'm wondering whether the routing out and fitting is a mission, and whether there are any options to routing out the wood.
And what about every time you need to change the battery? All the strings need to come off at the same time, and you need to open up the scratch plate. Will this be bad for the guitar?
For those that have done this mod, do you think it was worth doing?
          Thanks
          Tony
          • Thanks Alan, will do. I take it that the back of the neck wont need to be polished in future after using the steel wool.

            • Alan, you mentioned Mr Min earlier in this thread. I use it on the back of the neck to get a smooth gliding feeling. Guitar polish does not seem to achieve this. I dont use it on the fingerboard. Do you think that this should be OK?
              Cheers

              • Alan, you mention an old celestion distributor. Would they have the greenback? (12" 8ohm).
                Thanks
