  • do you think they still pick up the news about the air raids,
    • right so as with many of my questions this has probably been asked before, but here goes anyway

ive been trying to combine my DS-2 and my ancient fuzz pedal to get an in between distortion but all im getting is feedback , and not the nice kind, the same goes for when i use the overdrive channel on my amp.

is there a way to get those tones without having to put the volume at 0.5.

PS. When i say the fuzz pedal is ancient i mean it, (was made in the 60's) Only has a gain and volume pot

cool your help as all ways is greatly appreciated
      • right so i know this may be a bit of a begginer question, but anyways

is gain supposed to affect the level of the volume, iv noticed that on certain effects it doesnt, and on others it does, more specifically and clean channels when the gain level is boosted the volume goes up, and on a distortion channel the volume stays relatively the same,

        is this also amp/effect dependant
        • would the jonas brothers even count as guitarists,

also one that poses with a guitar but cant play it, like in music videos, album covers and so on
          • right well heres my 5 cents

            Adam Jones
            Omar rodrigues lopez
            Matthew Bellamy
            Darryn Malakian
            tom morello
            shimon moore

not all totally unique but definately ground breakers in thier respective genres
            • i finally figured out how to play zepelin's black dog what an awesome riff, ramble ons also cool, love that feeling when you know you can nail a riff, yours or someone elses
              • what im looking at doing in the future is making a 2X 12 cab, what would be the best type of wood to use or is it based on the type of speakers you get,

someone told me that the main wood used is Supawood, is this the case for heads and cabs,

oh and will the type of wood affect the head at all
                • thanks guys

really like the speaker shoot out clip,

wow i guess it does affect the sound,

also just wanted to find out (as im assuming that installing new speakers is a relatively simple task)

will the housing of the cab make a difference to the speaker tone
                  • thanks, the reason im asking is that i got a cab that supposedly does not colour (bugera BG412V) the sound, but as yet have not been able to use it with different amps.
                    • hi guys

i know this is probably been asked before, but when it comes to speakers how much do they affect the tone,

also, does the type of cables you use affect the tone, i assume when going from a head into a cab, one should use speaker cables and not instrument cables
                      • hey guys i tried to edit my profile but it wont save,

says email is not valid in SMF, dont know what that means,

                        the email is correct though

                        any help
                        • dont know yet how good the Vampire is, but thats because ive been lazy the last few day, got some half decent tones out of it last night but its still gonna take me a while to get the sounds i want,

the amp is bypassable, im not sure about the language they are using in the Manual, doesnt seem like english, but then again thats probably just my lack of experience.

the big plan is to actually build a decent amp using different parts, i got the vampire mainly as a boobie prize, i wanted the bugera cab and it came as a package.

still i dont have any other moddlers or effects units (besides some DIST pedals)
so i think this is gonna be a great way to learn.
                          • i purchased the behringer V-ampire LX1200x the other day and was wondering what sort of Midi controller i should get,

my friend has a FCB1010 that he is willing to sell but this looks a bit over the top for my needs,
can the fcb1010 be used through more than one rack unit, im also looking at getting the tc electronic g major, will the 2 of them be able to be controlled independantly with the FCB1010, and will i be able to mix effects pathces from the 2 units,

im kind of new to the whole midi thing and would like to start working with these units

                            any thoughts

PS: i know nothing when it comes to midi
                            • it is awesome, made in japan in the 60's for the canadian market, some dude in the us sold his for $300, so im gonna hang on to this one, only cost 100 bucks
                              • hi hi

right i have an ancient fuzz pedal its called a "Royal double effects machine" it has fuzz tone and a cry pedal on it,

the volume pots and the cry pedal are not working so well is there anywhere that i can go to get it fixed,

im not being lazy i just suck at electrical stuff

                                • thanks guys really appreciated

the main thing i was going for was learning how the amp works in order to gain a better understanding, 2 of my friends are attempting to build an amp so i guess best would be to find out how they do it first, checked the mars amps kits looking at bout 7-8k for the kit and 3k for the workshop, havent seen anything for 2010 though,

well i guess its time to start saving
                                  • right so it looks like the best thing to do would be to build a completely new amp from the ground up.

i take it i would have to do a circuitry or electrical course before embarking on this project.

does anyone know where i could find some info regarding building amps, iv subscribed to the tubedepot channel on youtube so still busy going through thier vids
                                    • so if i got the kit i would basically be able to build a tube preamp??

i played a tube preamp through a solid state a while back but didnt give such a nice tone
                                      • right i have a solid state Ibanez amp, is it possible to convert it to a valve amp and what would i need to do to it.

it has a rather large chassis so im not that worried about space also would it be wise to remove the OD channel in order to facillitate the space for the valves
