thanks a lot you guys, do you just sand the original paint off or is there another method?

Ok, so i got an old Johnson bass. It's a blue sunburn to black one. Very cheap, not so nice but all i got.
My plan is to repaint it since i dont have money to buy a new one. All the articles i read about repainting guitars talks about all american products, problem is, im not in america. So i want your help to get info on what paints you used and some tips. Any suggestions, tips etc, please let me know. thanx

I stay in Rustenburg, play Bass in church, learning guitar now. I played bass since 2000. My bass is an old Johnson....i know, crappy axe, but hey I was still an apprentice back then, no money. I have an acoustic/electric Washburn guitar I bought in 2002 when I qualified...little more money. will put up pics later. My mission now is to repaint my bass since I now have a kid on the way, due in july and there is now only money for baby stuff, so i wont be able to buy a new bass.
