I'm buying up second hand pickups and ordered some wire from the U.K. I want to wind and build my own pickups eventually but for now.. I take what I can get.

The reason for wanting to do my own pickups is that Cigar Box Guitars have 4 or 3 strings and it ads to the build.

So far I'm getting old Strat Single coils that I will pop into the first one and I'm thinking of just one per guitar. This could change... I see most guys like to use a neck pickup on them but have seen ones with both neck and bridge. I have also seen setups and wiring diagrams with Piezo and single coils. So many many options it is confusing at times.
Will keep you posted on how things go.

? Hi to all of you! My name is Oliver and I love what you guys do here. Interested in it as a hobby ?. I was looking at different types of truss rods and was wondering if it is realy necessary for the "hot rod" type and if any of you guys make your own? I know and met Merv a couple of times and it was good to know that he is here to. Also met Grant and he helped with a Guitar years ago. Fret wire from guys here in S.A sorta look like a problem to... not a variety available...it just says fret wire lol. Do you any of you guys do orders from abroad together to keep prices down or is it every man for himself here?
