  • OMG!!! Now we are in my domain ?. Muhuhahahaha!!!! Very keen to see the other entries \m/

Good luck to you all ?
    • haha yeah its where the bass needs to fill in ? which i still need to record. Any bassists want any of this action?
      • Thanks man! I'm still busy tweaking my sound as I bought a new set of headphones and the mix sounds a bit funny through them, then considered the fact that the mix might sound crap on a lot of different sound systems. I'm currently using Cockos Reaper for all recording stuff. For my guitar sound I use a variety of EQ's and PODFarm 2. Drumming, I built my own E-kit and use Superior Drummer from Toontrack. I use a lot of premium plugins in the master track to get the mix balanced just right
        • Hey guys, thanks a million for the kind words and the crit (very much appreciated). Also, I still consider myself an intermediate and quite flattered that you class me as advanced ?.

Thanks for the feedback!! I think the clipping you might have heard is the acoustic guit still going in the background and has a sharp sound shooting through from the back of the mix on certain strums. As for the "hall/reverb" effect, yes I did add a reverb to the guitars but also added the delay effect on the lead guitar (unfortunately not very audible in this busy mix). I will revise my track a bit and post it again tonight (for your listening pleasure). ?
Jethro wrote: Rudi, wonderful things happening there. One crit, make that second rhythm more audible, those drums are over powering that awesome rhythm. (I actually really wanna hear that rhythm bit without the drums and with the lead a bit softer. Yoh, its so sic!!!!!)
Thanks man, and I agree my levels were not exactly great when I did the mix (unfortunately did not spend enough time polishing my track). What I would like to do is clean up my track, remove the drums and the annoying acoustic in the back during the lead part as soon as I get home and re-post my song (just for your listening pleasure). Hope you will enjoy the track a bit more once the rhythm guit comes out a bit more ?

          My votes:

Adrian Rogowski - Enjoyed this one a lot (even though It's not my genre of choice). Very good and clear use of delay, very creative and catchy (very fun & tricky time signatures) and of course the clean mix ?.

Alan Ratcliffe - This was a great use of delay and really put a smile on my face. Very creative! Would have loved to put some drums & vocals to this and hear it as a full song! ?

G-Man - Really enjoyed the feel I got from this one. Once I stopped and closed the track I kept hearing it in my head for at least 3 hours. The whole dark & dreamy atmosphere was a great pleasure for me to hear. I can hear this turning into a full on gothic/doomy song. ?

All entries were fantastic and was a real pleasure listening to all the tracks, so hat off to you all. This was a very exciting challenge (and was my first). I will definitely enter all the following challenges ?.
          • Howdy, Indeed I agree with what you are saying about the delay being lost in the mix. I admit I do get a bit carried away and I lost myself in the mix losing the objective ?. As always I appreciate some good ol' crit ?. As long as my submission is enjoyable on some level I guess I'm happy even if I get no votes. I'll try stick to the objective on the next comp. Good luck guys!
            • I just sent in my entry, I really hope it is enjoyable. This is my first compo entry ?

Cant wait to get some feedback!

Good luck to all the other entries ?
              • I might give this a bash! will be a worthy challenge going from my usual metal to something completely the opposite :?
                • Would just like to add that the remastering/ re-recording will take some time. I have a total of 49 songs to re-do. keep well all \m/
                  • Heya guys, thanks for the Welcome ?

Will be posting some of my stuff soon. I'm currently remastering all my songs since I got my new recording software and gear.

I'm kind of a perfectionist so I don't exactly want to post things that might disappoint :-[. lol

Keep well guys and will keep you all posted \m/
