  • Thanks Explorer, but R6 000 is outa my price range. The guitar on bidorbuy is just a 'replica' but i was thinking about taking an educated chance.

But i'm gonna go for it...

i'll just keep looking, but while i'm posting, how's the Ibanez GRG 150?
    • Thanks for the advice.

I can't play it because i dont live near him at all so I guess im just not gonna buy it.

I'll have to wait and see like you said.

      Shot again
      All the best
      • Hi,

So im nervous spending the money not knowing if it is a good or at least decent guitar!

this is the link on bidorbuy : http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/16837190/BC_RICH_WARLOCK_REPLICA_ELECTRIC_GUITAR.html

Please Alan, if posible advise me on whether or not it is worth buying seeing as this will be my first electric guitar that i buy.

Hey, I just said I wrote the exam and Passed it. Nobody said anything about understanding the crap!!!
          ?

Petrol falls between the two at C7 - C11 and diesel is C17 and up. I get a little hazy (as one does, working with petroleum products ?) on the exact details, but that's it in a nutshell.
Naphtha often has a tiny amount of benzine in it, but may not contain more than 0.2% for safety, as it is highly carcinogenic. So, using benzine as lighter fuel or a "recreational substance" is probably not advisable. "Lighter fuel" is pure naphtha.
I just wrote and passed my chem exams 2months ago... PLEASE MAKE IT GO AWAY!!!! ☹

I know i don't know much, but I do know how to restring at least!

how much will that set me back? R120?

                • Trem - A properly set up trem is important, otherwise it may not always return to zero properly. If the pivot points on the baseplate, or the screws they pivot against are worn (amongst other things), they will cause problems.
Alan, now Im sure Im bugging you. But how can I check if my trem is set up properly? and if not how an I sort it out? wait... whats a trem again ???
                • Haha oh, my bad.

Yeah, it has been a while since I changed strings. I think at least 2 or 3 months.
What strings. I mean at the moment Im buying medium guage Slinky strings. They feel good to play on and I've able to move fast and freely with, but is there something else I should look at?

                  Thanks Alan

                  • String Trees
Sorry, you lost me there ???. Whats a string tree

???You'll notice that I'm gonna using that face alot...
                    • Shot for that diagram bro. Exactly what I need!

I'll check it out, though restringing every 3months at maximum seems abit extreme. But then Again I do play every day and maybe that could be the case. But sounds pretty pricy. Sigh, the sacrifices we make for our guitars.
If you retune, is it always the same direction
Yeah, always flat. Mostly all the strings. Not just a couple.
Have you tried plugging your Court into your amp?
I have, but i prefer the electric in my amp cause I've been playing a lot of metal (Lamb of God) and the accoustic just doesn't cut it.
                      • Sup Alan

Firstly, I must give credit where credit is due, so well done on the site, it's going great.
now to the problem at hand. See, i bought an electric guitar just under 2 years ago. It's a Squire (Fender Bullet Strat), bullet series or something. For a long time now I've noticed that the strings don't stay in tune for more than a day or two at most. Is there an easy way to sort it out?

Also, as you can probably already tell, I'm litteraly a Retard ??? when it comes to the guitar terms. In my head there are only three parts to a guitar (i.e. Head, neck and body!!!). If you've got like diagrams labeling or highlighting the major parts please post it. I really gotta get to know whats what. I've also got a semi accoustic Cort (model AD-850CE if that makes any sence) so if there are some very basic mods I can do, let me know and I'll check it out.

Much Appreciated ('Shot' is the word I'd use)
                        Thanks

                        • Yeah I know what you meen about getting caught up in one band. I know a guy or two like that - pretty irritating.

But i'm still into other stuff - like Devildriver, Hatebreed, Slipknot etc..
been listening to them much more now (Slipknot cuz of the new album and Devildriver cuz they're finally coming down to S.A.)

                          • Lamb of God seriously have the best guitarists. Mark Morton and Willie Addler just do everything right. Listen to any song really (esp from Sacrament and Ashes of the Wake) and you'll see, some other bands just won't be worth listening to...

But besides their guitarists, Check out the Drummer (Chris Addler) and their bassist(John Cambel)!! But above all, their vocalist Randy Blythe is just awesome.. Sure I sound like a fan boy, but it's kinda hard not to when everyone is that band is flying past decent and that why they are alround just Wicked!!

The only problem i think is that sometimes you get lost in trying to listen to one aspect, cause all of them are really good.seriously
                            • Devildriver's tourdown to S.A. has been prosponed to next year. Check it out. www.devildriver.co.za - they wanna do it properly or something ---> sucks for most people, but I couldn'tmake november 7th to Burn, Durban, so helps me out!!!
