  • Took it to music mate in pretoria. They checked it, and turned out that I only blew the power supply(PHEW!!). So now I have a working pedal \?/

Thank goodness. I guess I was pretty lucky.

    P.S. The pedal is AWESOME.
    • Yo guys

I just got my line 6 m13 from the States this morning. I plugged it in(not checking the power supply - idiot)

On the power supply, it says input 110V. I think SA has 230V? Anyway, switched the unit on. It switched on, but there was smoke near where the power chord goes in. The unit remained on, with the pedal "working" and everything, but there was no sound. :x Is there a fuse or something that's blown? Or have I been completely retarded? :/ Such a rookie mistake :'( Was too excited for my own good.
      • Hey guys!

Thanks for the input. I really do appreciate it! The thing I like about the M13 is the fact that it's really really simple. I did consider the HD500 as well. But I like the "stompbox" design more. And although it has a few more features than the M13, I think I still prefer the M13 over the HD500. I like to have some restrictions. I feel, that with restrictions you are forced to be more creative. Which I like!!

Maybe I'm being retarded or crazy ? but those are my reasons for the M13. We shall see if it pays off!
        • In Yo.
          Hey all!

I know I forgot to post an introduction. Oops. I haven't really been too active either. My bad. Today, that will change!

Name's William, live in pretoria. I play guitar(no kidding) and double bass. Mostly classical, but getting into some more electric stuff now. I've been playing classical guitar for 11 years now, and have my grade 8s in both classical guitar and double bass. I'm trying to get my solo project "tin god" ( http://www.facebook.com/pages/tin-god/234038802170?ref=ts ) up and running(the very little of a song that's on there is still very much incomplete. I'm pretty lazy...), and will hopefully start playing some gigs with that soon. It's gonna have a lot of collaborations and guest artists in. That way it can still be my baby ? I also play for a band called "Silver Planet" ( http://www.facebook.com/SilverPlanetBand), which is something completely different, but pretty fun to play nonetheless!

          Sweet.

          Will

Yea! Just ordered. I've heard about 1 person 'round here having it, and that they were impressed. I've done quite a lot of research on it and it seems to be the best for what you're paying. I really like the fact that it has a looper as well. I play a lot of rhythmically interesting things, which I would dearly like to improv over or something. So that will help me a bunch. I think I'll do a sorta review when I get it next week. So excited ? Also, strings are so much cheaper in the US. R30 per set as opposed to R70(Ernie Ball)
            • But the Vetta is valve too. As far as I know it's better than the spider valve too.

Also, looks like I'm gonna be going for the pedal. My solo stuff needs that more than the head. So to speak ?
              • Hey dudes!!

I have a friend of mine going to America in the next few days, and he will be able to bring me something back. I have a choice at the moment of either the line 6 m13 or a used Vetta II head with foot controller. I currently own a hughes and kettner 20th anniversary combo tube amp.

I would like the m13 cause I do need a proper effects pedal(in budget) and the looper would be VERY handy.

However, I do know that the Vetta is a beast and has some amazing effects on it too. It would also make gigs pretty nice only having to carry the head around.

                What do you guys think?
