James' guitar for alternate tunings when he tours is either a Ramirez copy with a Buffet sticker on the inside, or my guitar, a Hans Van Den Berg Concert Series.
I have a Strat with Fender Lace Sensors (Red, Silver, Blue - and once belonged to none other than tone hound Alan Ratcliffe)
One thing I've learned about LS's are that the tone knobs are somewhat essential. I'm currently having TBX pots put in, to give a dynamic thwack to the pickups. I found that (especially on the blue) if they have a normal tone pot wired in, they tend to sound a bit doff.
