  • Did you buy the Epiphone sst studio?

Does anyone one know where I can get one in SA? - My son wants one now, and I cannot find anywhere.
    • the hope that some rich person will take pity on me and assist in my financial department for the purchase of some truly amazing guitars
mmmmmm.......pity for some reason you wouldn't like a Variax, and are rather particular at this stage of your life. ?
      • what if there are 2 guitarists and there isn't a lead or rhythm? like they both solo, but one just happens sing or even both, but only one i classified as the Frontman?
What ....Like Andy Powell - Wishbone Ash?

I also do not get the... How many poll with no number option.
Not that I know the answer anyway.
        • So just do the deal then.......if it plays well and sounds smart and it looks good..........thats the one for you. Until you see the next one!
          • Looks like its veerrry Naice.
Reviews sound like its veerry Naice.

Does anyone know who has stock of epiphone stuff - so we can test drive?
            • Right - I'll fill you in as to why 4 beats work and why we tap out that rhythm on the door and why it sounds the most obvious and natural thing to do.

Think of your breathing..........Breathe in....hold......breathe out.......hold - seem natural enough - Ok theres the one source.

Now what's that related to and what's the source of why we breathe like that?

Think of your heart. There's your natural beat of 4.

That's why the world works naturally around cycles of 4.
              • 4 seasons
              • 4 directions
              • 4 times of the day
              etc etc etc

This is why music is extremely important to us - it helps us keep the natural rhythms that we sub-consciously crave. Thats why the beats and rhythms take you into different altered states. Relaxed or moody, high intensity etc. Our higher paced lives of today equate to to the faster rhythms like the hi tech disco stuff.....thats why old foggies prefer slower paced stuff - our bodies are more aligned to a world that may have the same intensity but not the same rhythm. So I might like Black sabbath with its more heavy but steady modes Vs something like Trivium, which apparently some guys like. Ok so you cannot compare Black Sabbath with Trivium I hear you say...yeah,yeah ..but you get what I am saying.

              • You have my condolences.

I have four and one in law and its been a ride. They are all great and everything works out well generally.
Theres no need to kak yourself - just relax, sleep a lot, do breathing exercises and settle in with a few gentle strokes on the acoustic. (thats in case you wake him/her up cause then you will kak yourself). Eventually when you think it can get no worse.........it does ....haha. ?

My oldest is 24 and practices metal day and night on his axe. He is getting better by the day and hopefully soon will cut his first album. Keeps me on my toes as he expects me to jam with him when he comes down here. The others have also tinkered but not seriously yet.

So you see eventually there is an upside. LOL ?

                • I have Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix and Keith Richards to blame along with my first teacher John E Sharpe.
                  After that came David Gilmour.
And then did I mention that Gilmour character.
                  • Here's the number for those who cannot decide....... ;)
                    • I could put this sword baby up in my lounge along with my excalibur, dragons and knights.

                      Really nice piece of work.
                      • My name is Marq.

I have been plucking away for many years and still dont seem to know much. Well thats my conclusion when I see what others are up to and I think to myself, myself - you need to up your game a bit here....... then I think - what the hell I am only having fun and its unlikely that I am going to be the next David Gilmour (one of my many favourites) so just carry on enjoying what you do.

I could not decide what guitar to buy a while back...should I get another gibson, what about a strat - gee that ibenez sounded nice. So after a long think in the shop - well ok it was about 15 minutes - I settled on a Line 6 variax 700. Bought the line 6 amp and play all the sounds I want to. Then I added a pod xt and now I can annoy the neighbours in all flavours.

Good site here Norri and co - its come together nicely by the looks of things. Spot on.
