He is now 26 or something and he has no natural talent, its all because of hard work that he plays so well. So NO ONE can say : "i cant play, its too hard". If Chris, Me and Norio can do it, so can you!
      Thanks! I needed that!

You have six wives?! Jeez, when do you get time to play your guitar?!
        • Here’s another thumbs up for Ry Cooder. A true blues guitarist. Awesome. I have lots of his music on CD, but would love some stuff on DVD. Haven’t seen anything yet.

He did a great version of the Elvis Pressley song All Shook Up.

          • Yes, it is like a drug. Try as I may I cannot shake the habit of wandering into music stores when my wife isn’t looking and emerging with a handful of “bargains” that I just “had to have”. They look cheap one by one, but put them together and you get a huge fright once the teller rings it all up ?

Buying one a month is much more sensible. Just don’t skip a month!
            • Look out for a double disk DVD called Crossroads by Eric Clapton. It is a live 3-day guitar festival he organised in Dallas featuring many of the greats like Santana, BB King, Steve Vai, ZZ Top etc. This is a must for your DVD collection.

Also look out for the Steve Vai live in London DVD. Amazing.

              • Hey, I love metal! Jup, I know Judas Priest, Iron Maiden etc. Love ACDC, Black Sabbath and Nightwish. You know Nightwish?

I’m currently hunting down some music from a band called Metal Church. I was only recently introduced to them.

Not really metal, but I’m also a huge Meatloaf fan. Saw him live a few years ago. Awesome.

Then a band that always gets me onto my feet, ZZ Top. Saw them live as well, almost blew us out of the room they were so loud! Unbelievable!

If you enjoy metal you must listen to Tamara Jeunette on Thursdays at 10pm on Radio Today 1485 medium wave or DSTV channel 169. She hosts a metal show. It is great!

Also listen to the Rock Professor Chris Prior just before her from 8pm to 10. So, great music from 8 to midnight!

I collect live concerts on DVD. Open a bottle of red wine and that’s me finished for the next few hours. I get totally involved in the music ;D

                Cheers

                • What guitar music do I enjoy? Well, there is so much!

I like rock, blues, metal, folk, classical and jazz just to mention some. I would like to migrate to electric guitar later but decided to start with the acoustic.

If I had to be more specific I’d say blues and rock.

                  Cheers

                  • Hello. My name is KC and I know absolutely nothing about guitars. However, I love guitar music.

When I turned 40 recently I decided that life is too short to waste, and that we must live our dreams. So, after a visit to Andy Mc Gibbons and the local Harley-Davidson dealership I am now the proud owner of a lovely steel string Tanglewood guitar and said mode of transport to get me to the guitar lessons.

I signed up with a local fellow and have attended a few lessons (I can already play one song really badly) However, my teacher has experienced some domestic problems, and can no longer see me in the evenings. As a result I see him whenever I have a gap during the day, but that does not happen often.

So, I may have to look for another teacher. In the meantime I continue to practice every evening and really enjoy it.

                    That’s me ;D

                    Cheers
