Also check out the classifieds here too, and of course Gumtree.

I'm not sure if I'm aloud to say this here, so admin delete if needs be, but I am actually selling a stunning Crafter anniversary acoustic which is solid top and back. Its a beauty.

One thing about playing is to remember that guitars can be setup, and adjusted to suit your style of playing, so keep that in mind if you find one where the neck feels great, but you just can't deal with the action. Having said that, if the action is too low, its harder to rectify than if the action is too high, not impossible, but harder.

    Thanks G,

Isn't it the one in Cape Town? the PG Maho.

And as for everyone else, thanks I guess that's the only option to do. I mean I haven't been able to find a great second hand that fits my satisfactory.

Of course I'll try them out before I get it.

And I'm someone that's on classifieds 24/7 hahaha

If I can find 2nd hand Taylor Big Baby, that would be great cause I do know that's one of the big bang for buck
    • Hi all,

      Looking for an A/E guitar!
My budget is about 5ks and I've BEEN looking for THE guitar.

      which is :

      - Bang for the buck
      - Solid wood(preferably)
      - Beauty
      - I don't like the look of dreadnought cutaway(I don't mind plain dreadnought though)

I've actually had my eyes on the new Ibanez series AEW22CD. It's an absolute beauty and Ibanez is known for most of it's good quality for the money. But it seems to be a laminate top! ☹

I know beauty isn't everything, but it counts a lot for me lol.
However, I'm also looking for a bit of specific sound which is a rich, warm mid-range tone like sound of Spruce and Mahogany.

Please throw down some real good guitars in the above description.

      Thanks!
      • Haha exactly that claims that this guitar is 54 years old??
        • Thanks for reply,

But the engraved label inside says handcrafted Cort since 1960....
          • Hi all, just posting another topic straight after agian.

Before I make up my mind whether I should get this deal or not.....
The solid top of the guitar has a crack as you can see.

The owner says it doesn't affect the sound at all, does it or not? I have a friend who tells me that it'll change a lot with that crack especially on sustain??

Secondly, is this a repairable crack?

            Thanks!
            • My dad just picked up a Cort Earth 200 without pickup from somewhere and I have no idea how old it is.

All it has is a small Cort label mark and next to it printed Earth 200.
And by more to the top it printed 609023.

Not sure if that is the serial number or not.... Cause if it is, it means this thing is made in the 60's??
How old is the Earth series??

Can anyone tell me anything of this guitar?

              Thanks
              • Unfortunately he was all the way in Brakpan so I had him come up to Hatfield XD but including the transport fee I had to pay 2.7k for the guitar.

It needs a lotta work, new nuts, bolts and screws etc. This guy shoved the pins in so hard I couldn't get it out with bare hands so I couldn't try it with the strings on.

Yeah I made a big gamble. Don't know why. I'm sure I could've cut the price down more but oh well too late. Looks genuine at least, got a made in Korea tag on it ?

The pick up is the electar by shadow that I've posted yesterday(Thanks to Alan Ratcliffe), had to find out if it was usable yet lol.

I'm only sad because it's not a solid top. But I'm sure I'll get over it since I don't have a golden ear.
Looks count a lot for me as well and at least I LOVE the looks

Can't wait to get it set-up and strum it

The top seems to be made of two different wood?? You can actually see the line in the middle dividing the two separate color of the guitar. That's what laminate top does I guess?

If there's anything you can tell me about this guitar, please hit me up!
Do you think I made a good deal or lost money?

If anyone got a pad bag or case for this huge super jumbo in PTA, please hit me up as well.

                Thanks
                • Thanks all, lol good to know you too Jayhell. Sure I don't mind your workshop for some kimchi XD Thanks Arjun for head up.

I bought myself a Epiphone EJ200 1998 Samick manufactured with the Electar preamp(quite an old piece of wood that one) with hopes to make it a vintage guitar. Needs a lotta work on it too but I'll take it to Andries in PTA to have it fixed. New nuts and screws are included in the service am I right?
                  • Howzit all!

Been hunting for guitar infos and never knew the guitarforum.co.za

Name is Jae, full name Jae-Hyun Park(11years in SA before departing from Korea)
I've been playing for about 5 years, but only got myself into theory and improvisation recently.
Meanwhile I was not bad with fingerpicking so I've got myself to learn tunes like Kotaro Oshio, Justin King, Andy Mckee and etc.

                    First guitar was Zamar(Korean) Z-1
Now I have Ibanez 5string Gio Bass, Ibanez AW103, Behringer V-Tone Strat(Dunno why I still have it) and soon be expecting Epiphone EJ-200CE.

My genre is Jazz.... Any suggestion for University on Jazz, throw em in.

Will try my best to keep up in this forum.

                    Ciao

                    • Anybody know anything about this pick-up??
It says Electar Epiphonic Six - assuming it was made 1998 with the guitar.
How old it is, how the quality is, etc

                      Thanks!
