  • A music shop found the importer and they only have P basses atm, and no date on a next shipment. This got me thinking, did they ever bring in J basses?

I am based in PTA but more than happy to drive to Ronnie's. Will phone them and see what I can find.
    • Yeah, that is something to live up to alright!

I think I still want to go the SX route, I want n complete bass to mess around with first.

So are there any shops that stock SX? I can't find any.
      • IMO I would skip the cube and buy a TC electronic BG250, brilliant tone and very flexible, much nicer tone than the cube IMO, plus you can run TCs amazing spectracomp on it, best bass compressor short of rack mounted stuff. There was one at Music connection for R5000 iirc, it weighs 16kg 250watt with a 15" driver, best small combo by a long shot.

Damn, reading my post it sounds like an ad, but I do love it. No affiliation to tc or MConnection.
        • Maybe my interweb is broken, I only found P basses and almost always in CT. Why do they always have the better deals...

Maybe a custom neck and body is the way to go, and do a warmoth-ish build. I will look into that. Thanks
          • Hey guys,

I am looking to buy a SX jazz or even better an mm/j to be my project bass, does anybody know where I can buy them in Gauteng? I have given up looking for one secondhand.

            Any advice would be appreciated
