Man...toughie. That's a bit like when that Pitt fella had to choose between Jennifer Anniston and Angelina Jolie.... I would go for the plain top. But if santa dropped of a black custom I won't be complaining either.

There's a custom in your profile pic. Is that yours too?

If so, I'm confused. Get an LP with P90s. It'll make it a lot more worth using than another LP with hums - unless you've got a specific reason for multiple copies of the same guitar (different tuning or whatnot).

As a huge Les Paul fan myself, Marco, I'm intrigued to know what you're looking for in a new LP. What LPs do you currently have? Why are you planning on getting another?

It's a bit of an addiction, I know. But if you're looking for advice, what kind of thing are you after? Just a new colour? A new set-up? What?

The 57 Les Paul custom VOS is different to Aub's Custom as it has a solid non weight relieved Mahogany body and the top is carved Mahogany.
Aub's Custom has a hand carved Maple top and the body is weight relieved.

Yeh they are different animals. I'm still waiting for a well worn custom to pop up locally. I have been tempted by the 68 RI's with the nickel hardware though, but they are heavy in general.
