I appreciate it , but as its a trade-in. I cant get cash out . Only trade for new hardware.

Then rather sell privately. You can easily get 3500 for the strat and 2500 for the amp, which will be 6grand cash instead of 6grand store price. You can get twice as nice gear 2nd hand for the same store price of new gear.

i have been trying to flog this kit for some time with no real interest. Secondly , theres mad buzzing on the strats low e and d strings that over 2k worth of setups havent been able to get rid of so id feel bad selling to a private buyer.

Where you based? I'd definitely check out Breedlove. Not sure what they go for here, but if you can get a cheaper one, GET IT! Tanglewood is the second option, GREAT guitars at some great prices! I'd definitely look into tanglewood before cort, ibanez and yamaha!

Why do you say that ? It retails for around $400 .

Oh. You guys mean an electro-acoustic. I was going to suggest the Tokai ES60, the Epiphone Dot, or the Ibanez Artcore guitars for semi-acoustics in that range.

$400x7=R2100... Plus a bit on and it should JUST be hitting the R4000 mark, surely? I would imagine it'd be nothing more than that, but that could just be my ignorance! ?

The reality is a little less glorious ... $1 = R10 after duties and tax.

If your scenario was true id shoot straght for the takamine ep320 ..

Whihc range are you talking about? 4 -6 G's must be the FGX or FJX. I like them plenty. You could do worse , not sure if you could do better for the money.

So I went out this weekend and played a bunch of guitars.

The yamaha guitars are out . While they sound ok they just dont have the warmth i found in both the tekamine and breedlove guitars. Waiting for stock to come in ... but right now im dont to a breedlove c200 or something from tekamine.

Right so , your final opinions would be appreciated. if all goes well il be picking up this Breedlove 35th Limited Edition Acoustic 2mrow.
