The biggest oinline retailer in the world, is now shipping to us, here in Soof Arrfrika.

And man, their prices look good.

What is your thoughts ?

Yeah, here's hoping they ship other brands as well. I can only assume this is because of sole ownership/distribution rights on certain brands here.

I LOVE the fact that all prices are in ZAR and include duties, and yay for selling Hagstrom's. ?

Sounds great but it's really not.

Example:
Mod Tone Dyno Drive Overdrive:

- R 755 + R 35 (Shipping)
= R 790 (Take 2 US Section)

- R 722 (Item) + R 429 (Shipping) + R 130 (Duty and VAT)
= R1333 (Guitar Center)

Totally not worth it, same applies for hardware, pickups etc.
The only time it would be worth while is if you buy numerous items or cabs, expensive guitars etc. and products that are unavailable in SA
It's the shipping rates that are ridiculous, quite disappointing really. ☹

As was said in another thread on this, not all things are cheaper! but there are other things that are!
Still, its good that they are willing to ship to SA!
it might force the distributors to reconsider pricing on order to compete, ultimately bringing in store prices down!

I think you looking at it in isolation ....

The prices could be better. They are not simply their dollar prices converted at the current exchange rate + shipping + duties. They seem to be converting at about R10 to US$1 when I looked.

Nonetheless. Some unavailable items become available. But having done a little looking, there are top-rated ebay stores selling most of it for less. So it's an option, but not necessarily the best.
