Ok you know what? I'M going to be the @$@$£@ who says I was listening to them from their first album (special order to SA based on something I read about them) and that their first two albums and a couple of tracks off Because of The Times are rocking but whoa... talk about derailing yourselves for popularity's (??) sake. Benefit of the doubt, they just changed musical direction as an artistic choice. The new and previous album is, for me, unlistenable. So it is unlikely, also based on reviews of them live, that I would go to see them. The chances of a "pigeon incident" in South Africa are too high as well.
Rant over. Apologies to fans of the current incarnation...

I was waiting for someone to do that ?
I will be going to watch (that is if they don't cancel ???), I just hope that they play a LOT of old stuff.
dee
They will probably stick to the "radio treffers" of the past two albums. ?
Don't think I will be going in any case. All of their latest stuff is so whiny...
MIKA-the-better-one
I loved them [rior to the latest album.... with like 10 singles....... aside from that though, I wonder if i would have liked the album if it had been not so popular, and listened to by every teenage girl from sandton to springs.... :-\
I might just go see them in hope of hearing some older stuff ?
makepeace
well i'd say they only have a few "radio treffers", ie use somebody, be somebody, sex on fire, radioactive. here's hoping the rest will be old? maybe? :-\

Nuff said.

Everyone's a critic nowadays...
"Pooping pigeons forced the Kings of Leon to abandon their St. Louis, Missouri, concert after just three songs Friday night, the rock band's management said Saturday.
An infestation of the birds in the rafters of the Verizon Amphitheatre bombarded the musicians as soon as they took the stage, according to Andy Mendelsohn of Vector Management."

Kings of Leon tickets
Golden Circle – R590
General Field Standing – R390
Seated – R225
Compare that to Duran Duran that felt that they were worth R650 a GS ticket.
LMAO

That IS funny.. Where did you find this cool info? Are tickets for sale yet?
dee
So looks like the FNB stadium is becoming the new place to be for bands...

My wife will be pleased and that is were it ends for me :-\

Well got my tickets today, had to go in to Computicket as their website was down (will they ever freaking learn...) And yeah, I'm one of those that prefer their earlier stuff - Aha Shake Heartbrake is the best album they've done in my opinion - but I know that if they play some of their earlier stuff at the CT show and everyone just stands there waiting for them to play Sex on Fire, then we'll just get all their recent stuff in JHB. Hope I am wrong though...
Wizard
I spent a VERY frustrating morning trying to buy tickets online with computicket ...
I have a fear they have deducted the amount twice from my credit card without having produced any tickets ... grrrr ....
makepeace
also got some tickets for the show at ct stadium. going to be cool to experience a concert in a stadium for the first time. hope they play a lot of old stuff........ :-\ i would be a happy man to hear charmer, four kicks, milk, soft and black thumbnail.

+1 to Everything Jack Flash Said.
I may go, but will not pay more than R300 to see them. I just want to see them for the sake of seeing them.
