I take it that one pot controls the volume only ?
Yup, My preferred way of doing things. I feel that tone controls suck... uhhh... well...
tone, and would rather have darker sounding pickups with no tone controls than a brighter pickup with. My guitars that have more than one pot usually have piezos or MIDI system in, so I'll end up with anywhere up to three controls - all volumes.
I also though you ordered ebony knobs ?
I did, but they got left behind. So they're still on the way. Soon.

How does it sound?
Acoustically, very good already - although the finish has not actually cured 100% yet and I know for a fact it's still damping the body quite a bit. It's going to be awesome in a year's time.
Plugged in, it still needs tweaking (the Kinmans give you a huge range of tones, depending on how they are adjusted). Pretty good, but I can still get it better. I may need to either change the middle and neck for slightly lower output pickups or get something a little hotter in the bridge - Chris Kinman told me it might be the case, but he doesn't do a hotter Tele bridge pickup.
I'm loving the Tele bridge as it lets me play further forward while resting my right hand pinky on the edge. The neck is real chunky and fills my hand perfectly at first position. The stainless frets are real smooth feeling, although I haven't dressed or polished them yet. More importantly, they don't make the guitar too bright, which some people complain about.
