Dillon Taylor 410ce Sitka Top Ovangkol Back & Sides Ebony Fretboard and Bridge I can't put this guitar down, it is absolutely stunning. The sound, the looks and the playability just all blend together perfectly into the best guitar I have ever played. I've played more expensive, supposedly better guitars, but this one just spoke to me. The search is over, for now at least... ?

deefstes Dude, that is a sweet piece. Congrats and enjoy it! Oh, and some pretty neat photography there as well.
Hennis If you want to sell it, I will take it free of charge (won't cost you a cent) :roflmao: :yup: Like Jim Carrey always says " B-E-A-UTIFUL!!!!!!" I tested a taylor at our local muso shop, and it was made of 300year old bambino or something, was R28000, but what a sound, and feel!!! Enjoy
TomCat Nice one.....enjoy immensely and congrats.. ? ?.....GAS is under control.......for now (Evil Laugh)
Dillon Thanks guys! A quick review (for those that may be interested) Soundwise, it is fantastic. It's not the loudest guitar I've played, but certainly has plenty volume when you need it. It has a rather bright tone (typically Taylor), but don't confuse that with thin or "treblely", the chest rumbling bass is certainly there but not a dull or muddy bass, rather focused and clear. The mids are very punchy and the trebles, oh my, "shimmering"... I A/B'd this guitar (along with all the others I tried), with my 8 year old, Japanese-made Takamine. Now the Tak has a pretty decent unplugged tone, but compared to the Taylor it just sounds very plain; like it's only covering a middle portion of the musical spectrum. While just one strum on the Taylor reveals a whole choir of voices covering the entire spectrum! The setup was good from the start, dead straight neck but just fractionally high for my playing style. I shaved less than 1mm off the saddle and now it's immaculate. Plugged in it sounds fantastic, once again no competition from my Takamine (which is supposed to be THE guitar for plugging in!?) I'd heard many mixed reports about Taylor's Expression System electronics, but I'm well impressed with the plugged in tone. The finish of the guitar is superb and the simplistic looks really appeal to me. A Taylor guitar may not be to everyone's taste, but I've found one that I love and would happily recommend Taylor to anyone! I really do feel privileged. I've been dreaming about this guitar since I was in High School (10 years ago) and now finally it's become a reality.

If your music is anything as good as your writing, this Taylor is in good hands. ?

That may be more true than you know. I've been playing acoustic for a little over a decade now. I can't claim that I'm brilliant but I'm alright. What I will say though is that when I bought my Martin some 5 years ago, my playing improved noticeably. I think it is mostly because playing becomes so much more enjoyable which means that you play a lot more, but also, the precise action of the guitar and the crisp tone means that you can achieve more by doing less. You're not constantly fighting the instrument and you can focus on neat and tidy finger work and expression where in the past you'd have been focusing on fretting those unruly strings all the way and strumming hard enough to be heard.
aubs1 Congratulations on a superb guitar ....... all those pics, I can imagine your excitement........ awesome...... ? Like when a photographer shoots his first nude, he wants to cover every single angle ....... hahahaha .....enjoy her, Dillon :woohoo:
DaFiz Congrats Dillon. A fine looking piece, if you play it as well as you do the camera, it should sound superb... ?
