in the last few weeks i heard of more artists coming to SA than ever before. so far its(not shure which of it is true): ACDC ROXETTE RAMSTEIN U2 there are a few others , but can remember who. anyone know of anything else, and if this is for real? if so then i'd have to use my GAS money on some tickets

IceCreamMan

i have seen maiden on numerous occasions in the D'anno days. I was living in the UK and mate of mine's cousin is a member of maiden so we sort of helped em out in the early days as amp carriers an the like.....

but never seen maiden in all its glory with bruce ...hence on my bucket list.l....... did see them here at std bank arena but that was the steve harris band not maiden imho...

One of my favourite bands - great if you like indie rock

Sadly it does seem like SA is the final nail in the coffin for many bands. Not always, but more with the heavyweights, like AC/DC.

We had The Jared Leto Show... sorry, 30 Seconds to Mars this weekend and Rammstein is conformed for February next year (GC apparently already sold out). There's U2 with their silly ticket prices and Faithless on the way.

Crying shame to loos some 'good' bands like that.

I hear you with that, Duran Duran tickets were in the region of R400-R500.

Last quote on U2 golden circle tickets were R2000someting or other.

I know that Iron maiden are known to endorse cheap tickets http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/w0005074.html. I love Bruce's quote.

"They deserve not just a great show but they deserve a reasonable ticket price. Other people have inflated ticket prices to obscene levels and it's just not right. It's a rock 'n' roll show, it's not a cash cow."

I'd still watch AC/DC though, as long as tickets aren't too pricey.

Speaking of artists who are past their sell by date, I see Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer and Turbo B (from Snap) is doing a show here in December. I'd have to confess though that a certain part of me would be keen to see this show. I haven't listened to it for years but I'd probably still be able to sing along with Hammer on just about every song. ?

Seen what Vanilla Ice aka (Robert Matthew Van Winkle........lol)......looks like nowadays? He re-invented himself as some hard core metal rapper a few years back.

I'd dig to see the hammer shuffle though.............I saw Tiffany do her jiggle a few years back and I almost lost my head...........man that woman gave me wood when I was a teenager.

+1 on that! I guess it holds true for every warm blooded adolescent of the 80's though so we're by no means unique ?

Here's one for the memories:

Heard an interview with Jenny Crwys-Williams of 702 and promoter Penny Steyn on Thursday regarding rumours of an EAGLES tour next year. There was no firm yes or no , but she did say : "Watch this space " 8)

Now that I hope happens. Need to see Joe Walsh at least once in my lifetime...
