Singemonkey kinda nails it. My friend Mark's first comment on Japan (after his first trip there to promote the Ace Cafe in London) was, "Aliens DO exist, and they all live in Japan". It was that foreign a culture to him as a pommie.
Perhaps the title shouldn't be "Is this what concerts have come to" as much as "Is this what humans have come to".
