Hi Everyone Almost lost a Gibson SG on Gumtree today, EFT receipt faxed to me was a fake. Luckily I could stop the couriers in time. Don't be as trusting (stupid)as I was, make sure the money is in your account before handing over goods.

Yup. but I physically go into my bank when I know that a big amount is needed to be cleared and speak with them directly. The longest I waited was 3 days and then it was sorted. Out of country checque........I was moer nervous.

Now I just press for EFT's.............nothing else but an EFT will do. 2-3 days later and I can ship.

Thank goodness, SG is back from its trip to Johannesburg.
Luckily it is still in showroom condition.

Mr Trevor Khoza of 101 Dunbar and Bezuidenhout is nowhere to be found, maybe he just changed his mind and does not want a Gibson SG Standard anymore ????? 8)

especially the R200 notes..

I had some dudes wanting to buy my car for R35k cash... I wouldn't even touch the notes..
told them to go with me to the bank and they can pay it directly into my acount in front of me, and they high-tailed out of there... never to be seen again.

I've also had someone try to scam me out of guitars advertised in junk mail using a stolen cheque. Fortunately I insisted on waiting for the funds to clear, and the bank called a day or two later to tell me the cheque was indeed stolen.

I dont quite agree with this...
Just because i keep a low profile on FB doesnt make me a low life! it only means i enjoy having some privacy in my life!
it also means i do not have to tell everybody about needing to go to the toilet because last nights curry isnt too happy with me!

i use FB to communicate with people, but cant stand when they tag me in the weirdest things! therefore, remove wall posts and picture and tags!

anyways, just had to get that off my chest!

I thought I was one of the few people to be scammed. This is like a epidemic it would seem.

I once had this guy meet me at the BJ's in Midrand to buy some of my stuff. He "arranged" for his 'boss" to transfer the money into my account after which I would hand over the stuff. The sms did come but unfortunately the "bank" misspelled transferred. I told the guy I wanted to go to the restroom and subsequently got in my car and left.

Man I would have been tempted to transfer my fist to his face. Wish I could get some face time with the degenerate who ripped me off.
