I know Clive Calder, and have posted comments here before.... He was our promoter/manager. We toured South Africa and the then Rhodesia under Clive's record company "Little Giant", and Sagittarius promotions, which later became Zomba, which he eventually sold to BMG Records.
Clive had a partner called Ralph Simon, and together they handled our band, The Strangers, (we had a hit called "Working on a good Thing", as a session group called "The Outlet", which Peter Vee later claimed as his own, he was the session vocalist on that song though), Freedoms Children, and (to a lesser degree, for tours only), Hawk. He was also responsible for promoting and managing Richard Jon Smith, with whom I toured and backed with a session band called "Drive".
They later brought the Flames (now called Flame), on their last tour before they (the Flames) finally broke up, and Ricky Fataar and Blondie Chaplin went on to play with the BeachBoys, and we opened for them on their SA tour.......then they went to the UK, and started Zomba, before moving to the USA.....
The rest of his story is in the article you posted........
PS. I photographed his wedding reception pics at the Carlton Hotel, and among the guests were Trevor Rabin and many other SA celebs of the time.....
