AKAI HEADRUSH DELAY/TAPE ECHO PEDAL

makepeace

what do people think of these? if they do..

would i be able to get a nice 50ms slapback (alan?)?

Reinhard

I thought of getting one as Gregsguitars on youtube uses one in some of his clips and it sounded good. Unfortunately can't give you anymore info.

I don't know them, but it would do the job (and more). The other one to look at that all the guys are raving about is the Strymon El Capistan. The Strymon pedals are available locally too (While there may be an Akai agent locally, I don't think they actually stock anything).

makepeace

thanks for the replies. yeah i've seen the strymons. they look really nifty. a little (a lot) out of the price range though :/.

The headrush is a impressive pedal...akai in general are a good brand in my experience,
O and the dud from radiohead use to use one ?

If I recall, there is a guy on the forum that has one,he was asking questions about pedal order and stuff like that a while ago, just use the search thingy and to find the thread and send him a PM ?

Vick

Ps: youl ge a gooood slap back out of it, an alternative would be the delux memory boy,it gets tapy on some settings and my malekko ekko 616(witch is the cheapest of the lot) gives a rich and vibrant, old school slap back ?

Hi

Have used 1 for a good couple of days ...

My oly major complaint - use it as a looper OR a delay - NOT both ...
The cockup is all the parameter controls are shared, so if you set up your level balances correctly for the delay the odds are they won't be correct for the looper & visa versa ...
Does both things really well besides that
KT Tunstall uses them for all those live acoustic/rhythmic loops though a little mixer - nice ...

thanks G,

the looper isn't really something that i can see i will use much. more keen on the delay and tape echo. i might be able to get one for a great price.. will see.

I believe that the Akai is the pedal that KT Tunstall uses on this video Black Horse & The Cherry Tree.

Just goes to show what you can do with a guitar, a couple of pedals and a great deal of talent.

Cheers
