Squonk It would be good if you all could post some suggestions for Band Names, or Monikers. This could also be used as a resource for GFSA I have exhausted the Squonk Persona and need a new Moniker when playing live. The last straw was when Alan mentioned that Squonk was not unlike a word Don Martin would use to describe some kind of sound! ? Some examples Dirk Thrust and the Y-Fronts (I could always mention that the Y-Fronts were engaged if playing solo) The Psycho Gentiles (wouldn't use this when playing in or near churches ?) The Plonkers Live in Baghdad Any Suggestions

Keira-WitherKay everything is in the name........... so choose well....... witherkay is not my real surname but it came about when i was thinking about marketing....... and i googled my real name and found 10 000 results . BUT google "Keira Witherkay" and almost ALL if not every listing on last check relates to me........so fabulous for my marketing and exposure ..... and for anyone looking for info on me however to get it i googled endless names till i found one that had no other hits ....... and it's memerable too cos it's a play on "Keira With-a-K " cos the name keira is spelt with a "C" too in ireland .....and yes i get a bit tired of hearing the joke on my surname as new people i meet say with amazement " keira with-a K " nudge nudge .. wink wink .......but i can put up with that cos i know they definitely remember it after seeing it or hearing it only once because of that anyway just think carefully ......there's more to it than one thinks initially and lastly pick a name that is not ridiculous or too funny ( like calling your band "Enis and the 4 skins" ....a great name for a guitarist and percusionist duo don't you think ? a clever pun on drum skins vs mmmmmm well you know where it's going )but names like that are a hoot at your local pub but some venues won't put that name outside their upmarket venue and would'nt book you because of it no matter how good you are....so think about it carefully you need a name that markets well, and is one you will be proud to have in 20 yrs time ..... remember the famous musical quote...." as an artist you have nothing to lose except your reputation"
