Weird licencing choices...

Jimmy Page refuses to let Richard Linklater use "Rock 'n Roll" for the Dazed and Confused movie (minor masterpiece I say) but licenses my favourite Zep track "When The Levee Breaks" to Zack Snyder for Sucker Punch (the movie does look fun, and there is a zeppelin in it..), see trailer below for those awesome beats (unfortunately cut up like Naked Lunch)...

Jimmy Page doesn't need any kind of money. So my guess is that Linklater caught him in a bad mood or pissed him off or something.

That may be... in the end Linklater used Edgar Winter's Free Ride I think.
Edit: it was Foghat's Slow Ride in the last scene but I think Free Ride was in there somewhere too...

They also allowed Jack Black to use Immigrant Song for School of Rock.

So yeah, maybe he has some issues with the Director/Producer/Whoever.

Jeez. I watched it again to prove myself wrong. Still didn't have anything going for me. And it really looks '70s going on '90s now.
