So the new guitar is an Ibby Roadstar that comes with some serious vibes... seen some stage time with Warrick Sony (Kalahari Surfers) and John Leydon (Mango Groove)...

Some of you Sherlock types may notice two strings missing...

Wellllllllll.... what can I say, out of necessity breeds a pretty bass playing flower (that's me)... Given that Hellfire Blues club is struggling to find a committed bassist, I've stepped up and moved to the other side of the stage and plugged in to the big amp. Gotta say, the water is fine! It may be that I've been a closeted bass player all along 8)
(That doesn't mean I'm hanging up the 010 E and B forever)
There may be some more Hellfire news forthcoming very very soon but I'll let Rene and Singemonkey deal with that announcement should it come to pass ?

The bass intrigues me and I need to get my hands on one. First started with John Entwhistle (The Who) and then Geddy Lee (Rush).
Victor Wooten and some scary Jazz basists Anthony Jackson and Melvyn David (Both play with Lee Ritenour).

Getting goosebumps just thinking about it.....

Roadstar bass, eh? Kickass. I love roadstar guitars, and that thing's got some history going on - also a pair of humbuckers by the looks of things. Must kick out some big sounds.

Coil tapping pots so should be able to get some variety out of the humbuckers... we'll see!
@ Squonk: I always figured bass will at very least provide a different perspective on rhythm playing... will let you know. My hands are feeling the workout nicely too...

I was lekker windgat when I was still young and naive. I had this firm conviction that bass players were lesser musos than guitarists. Even drummers were higher up my skill scale. Until I tried it at a jam once.... It would have been less embaressing if I had taken off all my clothes and started doing cartwheels down the street. So I will play it safe and stick to 6 strings, thank you. Btw, when are you going to duct tape it ? That's kinda your signature look you know....
