My wah recently died and I have never used a delay pedal, so I decided to see what I have been missing.

I ordered the MXR wah and the Malekko Delay. I wanted the Clyde deluxe, but coulnd not find it in stock.
A week after ordering a Clyde deluxe wah popped up on Gumtree and I ended up getting it. I will have to see which I like best and then maybe flog the other. The nice thing about the clyde is it has 3 setting and a trim pot that Increases the input gain.
The malekko is a nice and simple little wah. I've been toying around with it and it ads a nice dimension to a bit of lead. I think my board is complete now ?
I'll test the MXR wah when I have more time to compare the 2 head to head.

Those are two really nice wahs you got there. I've only briefly tried a Cylde and was very impressed, whereas I've gotten to play the MXR a number of times. It's my favourite Wah we bring in, out of a good 20 different models from Dunlop and VOX. Both are really nice pedals, so I'm glad I'm not the one who has to decide which pedal goes on your board. ? I'm sure you're going to enjoy that duty. ?

I'd really like to hear what you think of the Malekko vs the MXR Carbon Copy. I used to have a Carbon Copy, so it would be interesting to compare them (if you've tried the CC).

I ended up comparing the two last night. The reason I picked the MXR wah was that aside from the Clyde, it was the best sounding wah from ALL the online demos I checked. I viewed clips of the RMC wahs and a bunch of Dunlop wahs, but they just all sounded way too thin and trebly. The MXR wah sounds like the demo, smooth without the thin sounding treble. So I am screwed, I like them both. The wah mechanism on the Clyde just feels a lot more solid, almost too solid. The MXR is a lot easier to use, but I'd like to tighten it a bit.
When it came to delays that was another pain in the ass, there are just too many out there. I checked a bunch of demos, and I could just as well have taken the carbon copy. I compared the two, but can't remember why I chose the Malekko. Nick ordered with me, and his EH Memory Toy sounds different, but also good, I like it.

I thought you might have trouble choosing between the two... Good luck on deciding, but either way you'll have killer tone. It can't hurt to have a backup though.

From what I've read and gathered in demo vids, the Malekko is supposed to be darker and more syrupy in true bypass mode and brighter and more percussive in buffered mode compared to the Carbon Copy, plus have crazier modulation and oscillation possibilities, whereas the CC is more controllable in those areas. I read from some users that the Memory Toy can be noisy and boosts your signal slightly which did put me off, but without trying it myself, that's just some people's subjective opinion.
