I need to get out of GFSA for at least a couple of months. There are some other on-line activities that I need to deny my self too - all that warra warra warra about that Thompson chap. I've bought ALL his CDs and DVDs (it's a moer of a lot) and I have the recently released on one order. So he gets his pound of flesh from me. I shall miss y'all. I met some great people on-line & in real life ? Yiu know who you are. I need to spend less time talking about guitars and more time playing them. That's what it is.
Next TJs open mic night is November 25. Last for the year. I might have a whirl at that.
Otherwise I hope to stay in contact with those I am in contact with. I will be doing a show for TJ's in the new year - so keep yourself practiced. ?
I wish you peace, joy and roughage.

I'm sad to hear that Bob, but I understand. Hope you still stick your head in on occasion.

Hey Bob. I've recently had the same feeling about Facebook, and was planning to de-list until I gave it a bit more thought and decided that all I really needed was a little more self-control. Log in, take a look around, see if long-lost contacts are around, but then log off and don't get caught-up in the madness. I now take a look every now and then, but have refrained from posting which helps me to not get too involved. Best-of-both IF I have the strenght of my convictions. Come to think of it, I had a similar outlook with GFSA some time back. The now infamous "." repost ... and here I am ...
I hope you can come to the same conclusion about GFSA and when you start to post again you might not be as easily caught up in it all.

Oi....it won't be the same without you Bob.

Bob. That really kinda sucks. But you gotta do what you gotta do.
Come to Cape Town one of these days. Rene's getting a bona fide blues club peculating in his brain so you might get to see something very different. Oh also we have that whole mountain, ocean, natural wonder of the world thing going on, but whatever...
Take it easy. Keep your Crocs buffed. We'll see you in the TJ's pics.

You will be missed Bob, thanks for all your input over the years!
Keep well, and play those guitars! Rock on!

Time toooooo, say goodbyyyyyye (done in my best Sarah Brightman voice).
He will be back, sooner or later they all come back (where did I hear this?)
Looking forward to the return Bob, you know a lot about acoustics that I still have to learn. PS I ended up putting 12's on the hummingbird, decided I have to man up ?

Hey Bob, was good to meet you. Take it easy and hope to see you online again soon.

It's sad to hear, but if it's in the intrest of playing guitar it''s understandable. I think we've all had to step away from the forum at one time or another. All the best with your practicing and performing!

Anyway you better just pop in every now and again becasue you know how it is. The oke who isnt there anymore gets the blame for all the shit.

Well, at least we are not talking about permanently........just a while...... I must admit I sometimes feel the same, but then, I think I may just miss something...... what??? I have no idea....
Anyway, Bob, enjoy your break, and come back with lots more advice, (especially the interest you took when I got Eli his Taylor), encouragement, and all that info you store upstairs..... ?

Sad to see Bob - I hope you will pop in "undercover" from time to time to see the Cornerstone Zion progress - I wont tell, promise ?
I owe a debt of gratitude to you for "tipping" me off about the Morgan as well.
Go well Bob

This is totally unacceptable! Give up your day job so that you can devote more time to GF. ?
I think that you're a good writer and have so much information on board that I hope there's going to be more of that in the form of a book somewhere?
I agree - this online stuff can be a total waste of time and its nice to take a break from it.
Thanks for all the info (you pointed me in the fingerpick direction - great stuff) and all the rest.
Good luck with the more guitaring - sure its going to be a blast!
Less warra-warra. more pling-pling!

Hi, Bob.
I guess you're gone by now but just in case you're lurking ( ?).
Having just completed exactly such a break, I get it. Will miss your posts though - you are definitely on the 'must read' list of posters. Hope we'll chat again in future.

Bob. Oh dear. Come back soon.

Hey Bob
I know we spoke yesterday, understand your need to spend more time playing. Try my way, lose your job, no hope at this time of year finding a new one which leaves plenty of time for guitar. Wishful thinking, lots to do around the house, guitar whats that?
See you and Mike soon for a few beers.

Bob, when you one day see this, thank you for all your help with my acoustic questions and purchases! You've been a great help!
