I was in the area to meet someone at Irene so I went past to check the guitar out.
1. - bolt on neck
2. - body looks home made - looks like furniture varnish. Maybe it was refinished or the original finish was removed.
3. - hardware and neck look original.
4. - no serial number or model number anywhere.
5. - the neck back is a burgundy/dark maroon colour - doesn't match with the body at all, looks like different guitar parts - the seller told me that "mismatching colours of necks/bodies was a common thing at Ibanez factories" - Hmmmmmm reeeeeaaaallllyyyy???
6. - The body doesn't have a scratch on it, looks brand new but the neck is full of typical dings and chipped finish.
Basically it is shite IMO. Looks okay, but not really worth more than R1000, nevermind the thousands he wants for it. It would make a cool toy and I really did like it for the looks, but there are better guitars for the money, especially ones that have matching parts and are original (I have no problem with non-original spec hardware, but the neck really looks like it is from a different guitar altogether)
He also had an Eko les paul copy. According to the seller the Eko les paul copy is the best les paul copy ever made (ummm, I thought Eko was like SX or Aria type stuff - cheap and nasty. I would rather have an Ibanez/epiphone/tokai les paul thanks...)

Aja, NIce hollowbody.. only 2 strings though ? going for that seasick bob or whatever his name is vibe? 8)
Thanks LOL! It has six strings on it now - yeah I went all out and splurged this time, I prefer the tonal varieties that six strings offer as opposed to two - it may be subtle, but it is there!
