Anyone heard of Richard Pryor? www.pebbleman.co.za/
I was at Fogeys last weekend for a friend’s birthday and Boulevard Blues played and kicked ass! www.boulevardblues.co.za
Richards tone was bowel shatteringly good ? and his chops are amazing. It's very bluesy, obviously ?, covering Robert Johnson to ZZ Top and more, but Richard gets a lot of time to go way out with sweeping and the ultimate blues blasphemy, tapping.

Yeah Richard is a wonderful player. He also teaches...

Richard Prior is really cool, I particularly like the way he can drop a quick shred into a blues solo, damn should have put him on my favourite guitarist list instead of myself

Yes Richard is a great player, a great teacher and has great tone - partially due to that Jimmy Vaughn Strat I sold him !
Ha ! Self-gratification !
He wanted mods so now I've put a Hot Rail in the bridge position and a Kinman Woodstock in the neck !
He uses a Fulltone with a couple of different Buddah amps

Yeah, the JVs are great Strats for the money if you like the hard V neck and don't mind replacing the very trebly stock pickups.
Good choices in replacement pickups, BTW, but doesn't the middle kind of pale in comparison now?
Vintage-Vibe
He never uses the middle 3 selections - pickup also gets in way of his plectrum - bypasses the tone as well on bridge pos I think

Yeah, I saw his Budda, but I couldn't see his pedals from where I was sitting. A strat isn't really my thing, but he was tearing it up.
Interesting that he only uses pos 1 and 5 selecting pick-ups.

Richard Pryor is my teacher and an amazing and inspirational one at that.
At the moment he is waiting on a Bogner Ecstacy head to come his way because he figured he needed something with a little bit more gain.
The man has amazing technique but when you actually sit down and talk to him you realise that his knowledge of theory makes most guitarists in this country look childish.
He is an all round jaw dropping musician and I rate definitly one of the best guitarists in this country.

Well someone's gotta invite the man!

+++1 I mean we have a whole thread about him here about time he speaks for himself.
