Just a hint in case anyone else is struggling with this. With most cellphones, you don't want to take the picture too close when you want these kinds of close ups. Take it from a little further away, and then crop it (you can even do that with MS Paint) if you think it's too small to read.
The reason is that most cells have "fixed-focus" lenses. They're only in focus between a certain short distance and as far as the eye can see. There's just no way they can focus closer. But if it's far enough away (usually about 50 - 60cm), the stuff you want to see big will be in focus when you crop it out of the picture.
