well think about it all music (western music) is made up of only 12 notes ( in different octaves but still only 12 notes) so with the millions upon millions of compositions being written i'm not surprised that the chord sequences get rehashed over and over ...... but thats the beauty too... cos each of those songs when they played in full arrangement NOT just playing basic chords sound totally different to all but us muso's ....... it's how you dress up those 4 chords that make the difference .......
